Catching up!

Lots of ground to cover in this update! Let’s back track a bit. . .

July 6-8 we were in Iowa visiting my brother and his wife in Iowa City and singing at the Cedar Valley Sing in Cedar Falls. The AC on the van went out on our way down so we had a warm ride that day. Thankfully we were able to get it fixed in Iowa so we had AC for the 90 + degree days ahead!! We enjoyed reconnecting with friends at the Cedar Valley Sing–Three Redeemed, Faithful Men, Higher Power. . . just to name a few.

From Iowa we headed up to the Cities and on Saturday sang at the wedding of some dear friends–one of Chuck’s high school classmates! It was an honor to be a part of that special event. Congratulations Dale and Lois!

July 10 we sang at Oak Park Community Church in Blaine, MN. Naomi enjoyed seeing friends and other alums from Northwestern College! 🙂 Even the pastor had NWC connections–he was a Biology professor there for many years (although Naomi never had class with him). The Lord gave us sweet fellowship with the people at Oak Park. Hope to see you all again soon!

July 17 we made another trip towards the Cities. We sang in three morning services at Central Lutheran Church in Elk River, MN and then did an afternoon concert in conjunction with a Classic Car Show, a first-time event organized by Chuck’s cousin! We enjoyed lots of family, cars, and music! Thanks again to the Minor’s for hosting and organizing!

July 24 we stayed close to home and sang for River of Life’s annual picnic at Graham’s Island, west of Devils Lake, ND. As usual whenever we sing in this area, we saw lots of familiar faces and dear friends . . . that always makes it extra special . . . and a little extra nerve-racking! It was great to be with our friends at River of Life.

July 30, this past Saturday, we sang at Cornerstone Coffeehouse in Fargo. Cornerstone is very familiar and very dear to us! Some of Ron’s high school friends joined us there for the evening so they had lots of fun visiting and catching up.

July 31 we had a noon concert at a TENT in Pelican Rapids, MN! Some friends there set up the tent every summer right off of Highway 108 and have nightly special meetings and music during the week. It’s always neat to be a part of the “tent meetings”!

From Pelican Rapids we headed west to Gackle, ND for a 7:00 pm concert at Pastor Tim Blackman’s church. We got to know Pastor Tim and his wife a couple of years ago at the Midwest Quartet Convention and they came with us last year on the bus. It was so good to see them again and get to minister in their church!

That wraps up July! Please keep us in your prayers–lots to come in August as well. . . we’ll do our best to keep you posted!
