Okay. . . now that I’m caught up I can move on to how we spent this past weekend (check out the update and pictures from the Floyd Gospel Sing below!) . . .

Sunday morning we sang at the United Methodist Church in Devils Lake, ND. About a year or so ago while working at the Liquid Bean, I met Pastor Marvin who had a connection to Minnesota Teen Challenge in Minneapolis where I worked for almost 3 years. Through our common interests (coffee and MN Teen Challenge!), Pastor Marvin found out that I was in a gospel singing group. When Cathy sang at a wedding at United Methodist a couple of months ago, he was reminded again about the group and invited us to come and share at their morning service. We had to be especially mindful of time during the 8:45am service as it was broadcast on a local radio station. (We had to watch the clock for the 11:00am service, too, as we had to be in Surrey, ND for a 3:00pm program!) It was truely a blessing to be at Pastor Marvin’s church and worship with those at United Methodist . . . there is a special touch of the Lord’s sweetness there.

We packed up at warp-speed and had some help loading the van so that we were able to head out of Devils Lake by 12:30pm. We pulled into Surrey around 2:30pm and were pleasantly surprised to have a full 30 minutes to set up the equipment! Singing that afternoon was bittersweet as we were part of a Service of Closure at Prairie Peace Fellowship, a church that has ministered for over 100 years. Our very dear friends, Deb and Roland Elker, attended there and did much work planning for the afternoon service. It was an honor to be a part of the service there and we are asking the Lord’s continued blessing on that church family as they move on to what He has next.

We are praying for you and appreciate your prayers as we, too, seek the Lord and what He has next!
